Exclusive furniture from Lema, Milan, Italy

The history of the Lema company began in 1930 when Italian entrepreneur Angelo Meroni opened his first store in the small town of Arosio. At that time, the store sold furniture crafted in a classical style. Ten years later, in 1940, the family business flourished, leading to the opening of another store in Milan. During this time, Meroni established connections with numerous architects and designers who excelled in creating interior pieces. In 1970, the owner's sons decided to officially name the company, and to this day, Lema manufactures and sells modern furniture.

New Solutions for Home Comfort

The Meroni family's factory became the first in Italy to produce custom-made wardrobes. Fresh ideas, such as the development of load-bearing side panels, became the company's trademark. The catalog offers solutions for any interior, and the variety of modifications and finishes create the impression that the company has considered all possible combinations.

Designers' Developments

Lema has been a leader in exclusive furniture for several decades. However, since Piero Lissoni became the creative director in 1994, originality has become synonymous with Lema. The designer insisted that modern furniture should not only be beautiful but also functional and well thought out.

A contemporary interior is incomplete without sleek furniture.

The list of designers who have created furniture for the company is almost endless. Here are the names of some of them, many of which may be familiar to you:

  • Italian designer Roberto Lazzeroni
  • The Palomba couple, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba
  • Studios Studio Kairos and Nendo
  • Ferruccio Laviani
  • Werner Aisslinger
  • Gordon Guillaumier
  • Francesco Rota
  • LucidiPevere, Neri&Hu, and RawEdges
  • Tokujin Yoshioka

The Best Furniture for Any Type of Space

The Lema trade group currently consists of three production lines. The first one is Lema Casa, a brand that produces furniture for residential spaces. The list of areas for which solutions can be found includes the bedroom, living room, dining room, study, and wardrobe. Lema Contract manufactures interior items for stores, hotels, and other public spaces. This line was launched in 2004. The third brand, International Office Concept, focuses on developing furniture and various items for the office.

Lema prides itself on its quality, which is confirmed by ISO 14001 and FSC certifications. These international standards attest to the energy efficiency of production and the sustainable sourcing of materials, ensuring minimal impact on the environment.
