Insulation system Triotherm + from blaugelb TM

Insulation system Triotherm + from blaugelb TM

Every few years, the German Nuremberg hosts a major window exhibition Fensterbau / frontale. Four years ago, in 2016, Ukrainian window manufacturers blaugelb became a sensation at the exhibition. The company presented an innovative technology for installing window systems "Triotherm", which at that time had already successfully "passed" crash tests and was highly appreciated by Ukrainian system installers. This project is fundamentally different from previously created insulation systems. The representative office of the Meesenburg concern in Ukraine was responsible for its development. Let's consider everything in order.

The issue of insulating facades of residential and non-residential buildings remains topical for any type of building: from cottages and new buildings to houses that were built in the 80s. Usually, building insulation means complex work on the facade with the replacement of windows and doors.

An innovative solution in this area is to equip an opening made of moisture-proof material and mount a window there. Previously, the window was installed in the existing opening.

A completely new solution in the installation of window structures was proposed by the Meesenburg Ukraine concern. The blaugelb Triotherm + system allows for faster installation, and new technologies in the production of the system have made work easy, so that the consumer will ultimately be satisfied with the high level of insulation and energy efficiency.

Blaugelb Triotherm + features:

  • New, dovetail-free connection. Innovative fastening makes it easy to transport different profiles to the workplace
  • Building materials with class B1 and E, which means hardly flammable materials. blaugelb Triotherm + are made of dense polystyrene. Profiles are durable and stable, easy to install, suitable for any facade system. The system was developed individually for window structures at the thermal insulation level.
  • The perfect addition to the blaugelb Triotherm + system is 100% material recycling. In the modern world, this is an important aspect of life, when the issue of preserving the environment is quite acute. For a convincing result, you need to understand which of the energy efficient technologies you need to apply in a particular project.
  • Equally important is the fact that with the blaugelb Triotherm + system, installation is possible at a minimum cost.
  • Thanks to the materials of the blaugelb Triotherm + system, including the Power Fix polymer, which creates an additional seal, the window opening permanently seals the space.
  • As for Power Fix, a paste consisting of one component with permanently elastic properties is also used to seal expansion and assembly joints.
  • It is important to note the quality of the system, which has been tested by German manufacturers (anti-burglary, certification).
  • As noted earlier, the system is simple and fast to install. The list of advantages also includes the blaugelb screw for fastening the frame FK-T30, which fixes the Triotherm + profile even to a brick wall. The carbon steel screws guarantee the longevity of the blaugelb Triotherm + system.

With blaugelb Triotherm +, the variety of ways to insulate a building is not limited, it can be: polyurethane foam, vapor-waterproofing tapes, as well as PSULs. The only rule is to follow the rules for sealing assembly seams.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Triotherm actually improve insulation performance? The system's U-value ranges from roughly 0.73 W/m²K at 50mm thickness down to about 0.48 W/m²K at 74mm - meaning thermal performance improves substantially as the profile gets thicker, which is why thickness selection should be matched to the specific climate and energy targets of the project.

Does Triotherm work with any window material? Yes - the system is compatible with PVC, aluminum, wood, and wood-aluminum window constructions, which is part of why it has become a standard specification across different building types rather than being limited to one window system.

Why does window position within the wall matter so much? Positioning the window flush with the insulation layer, rather than recessed behind it, eliminates a common thermal bridge - a point where heat escapes disproportionately compared to the surrounding wall - which is precisely the building-physics problem Triotherm's outboard mounting approach was designed to solve.

Getting window placement and insulation detailing right the first time - rather than discovering thermal bridging problems after construction - is exactly the kind of coordination our architecture and material selection services are built to handle.

Good insulation is the foundation of energy efficiency, but not the whole story. For how it fits with architecture, windows, and engineering, see our piece on a modern energy-efficient house.

The Triotherm system is often applied specifically on aerated concrete walls - more on this in our piece on a gas block and foam block house.
