How is custom home design different from buying a house plan online?
An online plan is designed for nobody in particular. A custom home is designed for you — your site, your lifestyle, your family, your preferences. Every room placement, every window, every ceiling height is a decision made with your specific life in mind. The result is a home that works exactly the way you live.
How long does the custom home design process take?
From initial brief to permit-ready documentation, a typical custom home project takes 4-8 months. This includes concept development (4-6 weeks), design development (6-8 weeks), and working drawings and permit coordination (8-12 weeks). Construction timeline is separate and depends on scope.
Do you work with clients outside Seattle?
Yes. We work with clients across Washington State and internationally. All consultations and design presentations can be conducted remotely. We use high-quality 3D visualizations and virtual walkthroughs so you can fully experience the design before construction begins.
Can you design to a specific budget?
Yes. We design with your construction budget in mind from day one. We specify materials and systems that achieve the aesthetic you want within the budget you have. We can also provide a cost estimate review at key design stages so there are no surprises when you go to bid.
Do you work with locally licensed architects for permits?
Yes. DeZZign provides architectural concepts, design development, and full documentation. For projects requiring Washington State stamped permits, we coordinate with locally licensed architects and engineers. This gives you the best of both worlds: European design quality with local code compliance.
