At DeZZign, we approached this problem differently.
Our founder, having relocated to the Pacific Northwest, made a decision that few architects make: to learn construction from the ground up — literally. He worked on job sites, studied local building codes, learned the sequence from foundation to last shingles, and gained first-hand understanding of how American residential and commercial construction actually works.
Not from textbooks. From doing it.
This means when we oversee a construction project for our clients in Seattle, Bellevue, or Kirkland, we are not guessing. We know what a properly poured foundation looks like. We know when framing is off. We know when a contractor is cutting corners on waterproofing or insulation. And we know how to speak the language of American builders — because we have been on that side of the conversation.

We work exclusively with qualified, licensed, and insured contractors who have been vetted through our own experience and track record. We do not recommend anyone we have not worked with or personally verified.

Do you actually understand US construction, or just design?
Both. Our founder personally worked on construction sites in the Pacific Northwest, studied local building codes, and learned the full sequence from foundation to roofing. We do not just hand over drawings and walk away — we understand what it takes to build them correctly in the American context.
Do you work with licensed and insured contractors?
Yes, exclusively. We work only with contractors who are licensed in Washington State, carry general liability insurance, and have a track record we have personally verified. We do not recommend anyone we have not worked with or vetted ourselves.
Can you help with the permit process in King County?
Yes. We are familiar with King County permit requirements, Washington State building codes, and the documentation needed for residential and commercial projects. We guide you through the process and coordinate with engineers and inspectors as needed.
What types of construction do you handle?
We work with new residential construction, additions, ADUs, commercial tenant improvements, and renovation projects. We have experience with wood frame construction, concrete foundations, and the specific envelope requirements for the Pacific Northwest climate.
How do you handle construction in the rainy Pacific Northwest climate?
We understand the importance of proper waterproofing, drainage, vapor barriers, and roofing systems in the PNW climate. Our site supervision specifically focuses on envelope performance — because most building failures in this region come from water intrusion, not structural issues.
Can you manage the full project from design to construction completion?
Yes. We offer turnkey delivery: architectural design, permit documentation in collaboration with local licensed architects, contractor selection, construction supervision, procurement, and final handover. One team, one point of accountability, from first sketch to move-in day.
