The children's book The Flying Gherkin (“Flying Cucumber”) is another round of development of the educational platform of one of the most famous architectural bureaus Foster + Partners. The main character of the book was the London skyscraper Mary-Ex, the authors illustrated it in the form of a cucumber. The idea of the illustrators is due to the ambiguous attitude of the inhabitants of Britain to this building.
The plot unfolds in our time on the empty streets of London due to quarantine. Mary-Ex Tower, which is sad without people, decides to see the architecture of Foster + Partners in different parts of the world. Mary Ax travels independently through the air like a rocket, thanks to its shape. I immediately recall the recent launch of the Ilona Mask rocket - an interesting reference.
Three chapters have already been written and published; a fourth is coming soon. The book is one of the points of the #architecturefromhome children's entertainment project.
