What do we know about clinker brick?

What do we know about clinker brick?

We are all used to when, when designing and building a house, an architect or foreman uses the word “clinker”, a clear association arises in the head - a brick. So let's see what Clinker Brick really is. And this is what it represents: in fact, it is a refractory ceramic brick, it is made from a special type or composition of clay. When the brick is formed, it goes through the firing process until it is completely baked at an average temperature of about 1100-1200 ° C; depending on what the temperature was, we get different colors and shades. Clinker owes its name to the characteristic high-pitched sound when tapping bricks on bricks. The most important feature of this brick is high strength. Yes, that's why Amsterdam and other European cities are often laid out with clinker.

Based on high strength, durability is achieved. Durability is achieved due to such a composition:

  • Fireclay - a refractory type of clay
  • Feldspars are rock-forming minerals (silicates)
  • Clay minerals are also silicates, but of an aqueous group.

Depending on how these components are mixed, specialists achieve different colors and shades. The main dimensions of the facade clinker are as follows:

  • 250x60x65 mm
  • 250x85x65 mm
  • 250x120x65 mm.

Clinker bricks are of two types: solid and hollow.

From the features of durability and high strength, we get high reliability with you. If your facade is in clinker, then you can forget about its maintenance for a long time. Brick will not only not cause you trouble, but will also not change color. The only thing that you must always remember when building and contracting is that any high-quality material requires highly qualified specialist, in this case, a bricklayer.

In our Projects, deZZign specialists often use clinker bricks in the design of private houses, as well as in the reconstruction of dilapidated and aged buildings in the city center.
