The largest building in Europe with a green facade

Already the international architectural company INGENHOVEN ARCHITECTS not only created a building with the greenest façade in Europe of 30,000 trees, but also completely revitalized the city center thanks to the multifunctional Kö-Bogen II complex in Düsseldorf, Germany. They created the building from 2017 to 2020. The project was presented in 2014 and won first place in the international architectural competition.

The complex includes offices, a shopping center, restaurants and food courts, and of course, underground parking. Prior to the construction of this greenest building in Europe, a motorway was located on this site, which also changes the paradigm: from an urban point of view, this means moving away from the automotive era and turning to planning focused on the comfort of movement and people's lives.

To return as much greenery to the city as possible is a task that architects have worked for a decade in various climatic zones. Thanks to the supergreen® concept, the INGENHOVEN ARCHITECTS office takes an integrated approach to sustainable development of such a concept. Well, the company deZZign thanks the architects of the company for such a wonderful and interesting project!
